East Brunswick is known for its creativity, connected community and passion for sustainable living.
The Lygon Street Green Mile program builds on these values – celebrating our heroes, supporting local businesses to play their part in the shift to zero carbon and exploring what more can be achieved by coming together and sharing ideas, energy and resources. This program has been co-designed by traders, community members, Moreland Energy Foundation and Moreland Council.
Recent projects include trials of timers for coffee machines, development of a new community greenspace, a pop-up parklet and explorations for sustainable food waste options. Together these are making local businesses more profitable, reducing the street’s environmental impact and creating a greener, more vibrant precinct.
