Moreland Zero Carbon grant recipients announced!

Last year we asked the Moreland community how AEF could best support community action on climate change and one of the main responses we received was to make funding available to the community to seed ideas to help them grow into something bigger.

We responded to this with our pilot Moreland Zero Carbon grants and we are excited to announce – our recipients have been chosen!

  • Discovering Energy Curriculum Kit for Early Childhood – CERES

A climate change education kit for early childhood educators across a range of early learning centres.

A program helping to preserve urban good growing throughout Fawkner and Coburg, by propagating existing trees in the local area.

  • Community Composting in Fawkner Food Bowls Community Market Garden – Fawkner Food Bowls

The grant funding will go towards the purchase of a shredder to process cardboard and other carbon-rich materials for compost production.

  • Community Car Share – Jaunt

The funding will go towards the development of a business case for Jaunt – a community car share start-up which creates beautiful electric vehicle for adventure, available to rent at tourist destinations around the country.
